Painting in Photoshop and Tablet

Painting in Photoshop is a lot of fun. Well, actually doing anything in Photoshop is a lot of fun! 😉

And you could paint with a mouse, but it is a very tedious work, so why not invest in a tablet? Working in Photoshop, as a general concept, is not intuitive when you work with a mouse.  I have used a tablet for a couple of years now and I remember when I bought my first tablet – I just loved it! I sold a mouse straight away and haven’t come back to  mouse. Even nowadays, when I do training at location and sometimes I am provided with a computer to work on, I find it so hard working with a mouse. I just love using my tablet.

If you plan on doing quite a lot of work in Photoshop, buying a tablet is a worthy investment. And they don’t cost that much any more. Working with a pen and a tablet is much more intuitive and easier than working with a mouse. I use my tablet all the time, even while browsing through the internet or checking my email. Also, when you use a tablet, applications like Photoshop use the pressure sensitivity on the pen.

I have used a Wacom tablet for quite a while and I am very pleased with it. I have been using Wacom Volito 2 for the last few years and I woldn’t really exchange it for a different one. Here’s the one I’m using:

As it is an old tablet, you probably won’t buy it anymore, unless you buy it used. I was actually considering getting a new one, but then I thought – well, this one is really good and I am really pleased with that so I’m going to keep using it as long as it works.

Have a fantastic day and a fabulous weekend! 🙂
