One of the best known photo locations in Europe (and probably in the World)  is gone.

Malta’s famous Azure Window arch in Gozo collapsed into the sea yesterday.

Azure Window Arch seems to have been in danger of collapse for the last few years because of natural erosion as well as tourists. Yesterday, as very strong gales hit Malta, Azure Window collapsed into the sea forever…

I was fortunate enough to be in Malta a few years ago and I managed to get some beautiful images of the arch:

And it’s all gone now.
