No Artistic Filters in Photoshop CS6?

Artistic Filters in PhotoshopHave you noticed that Artistic Filters category in Photoshop CS6 is gone?

In previous versions of Photoshop, we had Artistic category when using Filters as shown on the image on the left.

And, in previous versions of Photoshop, when you selected one of the Artistic filters from the list, this invoked the Filter Gallery. And one of the great features in Filter Gallery is the ability to stack the filters one of top of another.

So, in Photoshop CS6, to avoid  duplicating Artistic Filters in Filter Gallery (this one appears in menu under Filter as well) and in Artistic menu, Adobe did something different.

In Photoshop CS6, Artistic Filters have been hidden from the menu, and now are only available in the Filter Gallery.

NOTE: If you want to see the Artistic filters in the menu you can do so by going to Preferences > Plug-Ins > Show All Filter Gallery Groups and Names.

Enjoy playing with filters! 😉
